Heartbeat: Rejecting Apathy

This semester we launched at RWC a monthly ministry/worship night for college students called Heartbeat. It’s purpose is to unite the students and campus ministries at Roberts and to impact both the campus and the community.

This past week we talked about Rejecting Apathy – The idea that we tend to talk about how the world should be, but fail to actually take steps forward to make it happen.

Jadaiza Johnson, a student at Roberts, wrote an inspiring spoken word piece which we showed at Heartbeat, which had this line that moved me

Talk is cheap. Stop running your mouth and start moving your feet.

We must keep moving. Keep pushing forward. Keep actively pursuing change in a way that shakes injustice and indifference.

Below is some videos and photos from the night. Enjoy!
